Hero Vida-VX2 2025: Hero MotoCorp recently launched their new Hero Vida-VX2 electric scooter in the market. Surprisingly, the company decided to lower the prices for the Hero Vida-VX2 Go variant as part of an introductory offer by ₹15,000. Under the limited-time promotion, EV enthusiasts can buy the Hero Vida-VX2 in the Battery as a Service (BAAS) program for just ₹44,990. When purchased with the battery, its ex-showroom price is ₹85,000, which is still competitive.
Additionally, the top variant of the Hero Vida-VX2 has an ex-showroom price of ₹1 lakh (with battery), but under the BAAS program, it is available for ₹58,000. The company has not announced until when these promotional prices will be available. Hero Vida-VX2 was launched on 1st July 2025 with two battery pack options, and the company claims it offers a range of up to 142 km on a single charge.
Hero Vida-VX2: Free Battery Replacement if Battery Falls Below 70% Performance
Under the BAAS (Battery-as-a-Service) program, Hero claims that a Vida-VX2 owner pays only 96 paise per km for battery use. If the battery performance drops to 70%, the company promises free replacement. This scheme makes the Hero Vida-VX2 a strong competitor to Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, OLA S1, and Ather in the Indian EV scooter segment. Deliveries are expected to begin soon.
What is the BAAS Program?
BAAS (Battery-as-a-Service) is a battery rental model. Originally introduced by MG Motors in their electric vehicles, this program separates the battery cost from the vehicle’s upfront price. Instead of buying the battery, users pay per kilometer for battery usage. Monthly battery rent is applicable, and users are also responsible for charging costs.
This model is ideal for users who want a low upfront cost and don’t want to handle the long-term maintenance or replacement of EV batteries.
